Sweet Asian Meatballs
- 20 Prima Familia® Meatballs
- 20 oz. can crushed pineapple in juice (not syrup)
- 3 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. teriyaki sauce
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. ketchup
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Drain pineapple, and reserve juice.
Combine juice, brown sugar, teriyaki sauce, vinegar and ketchup. Set aside.
Cook meatballs as directed on package.
In a medium saucepan, pour the crushed pineapple and juice mixture over the meatballs and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Dissolve cornstarch in water, and stir into skillet. Cook and stir until sauce thickens and pineapple is heated through.
Note: This can be served as an appetizer or over rice for a meal. You may need to adjust the amount of cornstarch needed to get desired thickness. Remember to start slow and always add it dissolved in water. You can always add more!
