Get ready for a Texas-sized bite with this Texas Toast Double Smashburger! Two juicy, crispy-edged Philly Gourmet® Smashed Patties are layered with melty American cheese and stacked between thick, buttery Texas toast. Crunchy onion rings, crisp lettuce, fresh beefsteak tomato, and a slather of tangy special sauce take this burger over the top. Every bite is a perfect mix of crispy, cheesy, and downright irresistible flavors—this isn’t just a burger, it’s a full-on flavor experience!
Ingredients:
- 8 Philly Gourmet® Smashed Patties
 - 8 frozen onion rings
 - Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
 - 8 slices yellow American cheese
 - 8 slices Texas toast, prepared
 - 4 leaves curly leaf lettuce
 - 1 beefsteak tomato, cut into 1/4-inch slices
 - 1/4 cup special sauce
 
Let’s do it…
- Bake onion rings on a rimmed baking sheet according to package directions.
 - Meanwhile, season patties with salt and pepper. In large skillet or griddle, cook patties according to package directions. With about 1 minute remaining on cook time, top patties evenly with cheese.
 - Top 4 slices of toast evenly with lettuce, tomato, 2 patties, special sauce, onions rings and remaining toast.
 
Tip: To make special sauce, combine 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish and 2 tablespoons mustard in small bowl.
